WESLEY CHAPEL, FLORIDA James L. Frank Door Service, Inc. received U.S. Patent 11,219,992 today (January 11, 2022) for a spring winding apparatus and method for use. This provides safer garage door installations. Each year, tens of thousands of people are injured by garage doors, most often the torsion spring. The replacement of a torsion spring can be a dangerous and inefficient task.  The spring helps lift the door up but holds a lot of energy in a small area. This leads to danger for amateurs and professionals alike, in that a slight misstep can lead to the spring unwinding, similar to a propeller, launching away from the torsion bar.  The inventor in this case developed a spring winding apparatus that safely, easily, and efficiently winds and unwinds a torsion spring with reduced injury risk for an installer.
